B&J’s . . . Milk and Honey

Ben & Jerry’s independent Israel operation has come up with a flavor that does not leave much to interpretation. Called “Milk and Honey,” the biblical description of the Land of Israel, its ingredients are supplied by Israeli cows and bees and its chocolate fudge pieces come shaped like Stars of David.

Small states, big enemies: Estonia, Israel forge tech, trade and defense ties

At first glance, geography, climate and culture suggest Estonia and Israel have little in common. One sits on the frosty edge of northeastern Europe, defined by pine forests, Baltic winds and a Nordic culture; the other is a mix of Mediterranean beaches, Semitic languages and biblical traditions.

Not in it for the money — why do multi-millionaires work?

The New York City police commissioner is known to send emails about department business to police officials at 2 a.m. Later that morning, the commissioner reviews emails that detail how many murders and other serious crimes took place in the city overnight. Then, at night, the commissioner often attends public events, representing NYPD. The commissioner does not need the work, or the salary — she is a multi-millionaire.

AI can spread hateful ideas — and counteract them

Every day seems to bring a fresh headline about how AI chatbots are spreading hateful ideas. But researchers tasked with understanding anti-Semitism and how it can be stopped say they have found evidence that AI chatbots can fight hate. ADL’s Center for Antisemitism Research trained a large-language model — LLM — on countering antiSemitic conspiracy theories, then invited people who subscribed to at least one of them to interact with it.
