Robyn Friedman
Denver native and Temple Sinai founding member Robyn Friedman passed away on June 23, 2026, at the age of 87. A service was held on June 26 at Temple Sinai, with interment at Mt. Nebo Cemetery, officiated by Rabbi Rick Rheins. Feldman Mortuary made the arrangements.
Mrs. Friedman was the mother of IJN columnist Jordan Friedman.
Born on January 2, 1939, Mrs. Friedman grew up on Denver’s East Side and attended East High School, the University of Arizona and DU, where she earned her bachelor’s and master’s degree in social work. She spent her career as a licensed clinical social worker, mostly in private practice as a therapist.
In 1961, Robyn married Benjamin Friedman. They were founding members of Temple Sinai, and were a couple until Mr. Friedman’s passing in 2017.
Mrs. Friedman was a lover of music and art.
“She sang everything from opera to show tunes,” her family said.
“She loved modern and contemporary art. She was deeply curious about many subjects, especially psychology, art and music, and the Middle East.
“She cared deeply and passionately about Israel.”
Survivors are Mrs. Friedman’s children Brian (Dana) Friedman and Rabbi Jordan (Shayna) Friedman; brother Barry (Randie) Winograd; and grandchildren Samuel, David, Maya, Isaiah, Avi and Lev.

Dr. Reuven Geller
Dr. Reuven Geller died on June 18, 2026. He was 80. A service was held on June 19 at Mt. Nebo Memorial Park. Feldman Mortuary handled the arrangements.
A native of Romania, Dr. Geller was born on November 5, 1945, and spent his childhood in Vienna, Austria, before moving to Jerusalem. He completed his medical studies at Hadassah Medical School.
Dr. Geller and his wife Ada moved to Pittsburgh and in 1980 settled in Scottsdale, Ariz., where Dr. Geller built his medical practice. Mrs. Geller died in August, 2022.
Following retirement, the couple relocated to Denver, to be closer to family.
“Reuven had a deep love of reading, history, sports and Jewish heritage,” Dr. Geller’s family said.
“He possessed an extraordinary knowledge of historical events, politics and athletics, and could effortlessly discuss subjects ranging from ancient civilizations to current affairs.
“A devoted Pittsburgh sports fan, he especially cherished recounting stories of the Pirates’ teams of the 1970s as though the game had been played only yesterday.”
Survivors are son Gayor (Stephanie) Geller; and grandchildren Madilynn and Asher.
