The Ellis David Greene Post 344 of the Jewish War Veterans will meet on Memorial Day at the flagpole on the JCC lawn to read aloud the names of all known Jewish Coloradans who have served in the US Armed Forces and are no longer living.
There are hundreds of deceased Jewish war veterans. The list is provided by the Intermountain Jewish News, which has compiled the list and maintained it for decades, updating it every year.
“The IJN honors and remembers our veterans,” says Editor and Publisher Rabbi Hillel Goldberg. “Our recently retired Chris Leppek, himself a veteran, meticulously curated these names, and we are grateful for his leadership and sensitivity.”
The IJN publishes the updated list every Memorial Day, and is included in Section B of the May 23, 2025 issue.
The community is invited to attend the ceremony at 2:30 p.m., where the names will be read by Post members and other vol- unteers.
